Effective date: October 7, 2026. Last updated: October 7, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our website at https://activesecurityconsulting.com (the "Website") or contact us through it, and describes the rights and choices available to you.
This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Website. It does not apply to information we process on behalf of our clients under a contract, to classified or controlled information handled under government programs, or to job applications submitted through our third-party recruiting provider, each of which is governed by separate agreements and notices.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us: when you submit our contact form or otherwise reach out to us, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Organization and department
- The content of your message and any other information you include in it
We also collect the information you provide when you contact us directly by email, phone, or mail.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Website, we and our analytics provider automatically collect certain information about your device and your use of the Website, including:
- IP address and approximate location (city, region, and country) derived from it
- Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution
- Pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, and the website or source that referred you
- The date and time of your visit
- Website performance information, such as page load times
This information is collected using cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 5.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as government identification numbers, financial account information, health information, or precise geolocation) through the Website. Please do not include sensitive or classified information in messages submitted through the Website.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about our services
- Evaluate and pursue potential business relationships, partnerships, and opportunities
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Website
- Understand how visitors use the Website through aggregated analytics
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights
We do not use your information to send marketing newsletters, and we do not use it for targeted or behavioral advertising.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA and UK Visitors)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests — to respond to inquiries, operate and secure the Website, and develop our business, where those interests are not overridden by your rights
- Steps prior to entering into a contract — where you contact us about engaging our services
- Legal obligation — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose personal information only as follows:
- Service providers — companies that host and maintain the Website, store contact form submissions, and provide analytics (Google LLC, through Google Analytics). These providers may use the information only to perform services for us.
- Legal requirements — when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, subpoena, or court order, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Active Security, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this Privacy Policy.
- With your direction or consent — for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time.
5. Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the Website. Google Analytics sets the following cookies:
- _ga — distinguishes unique visitors. Duration: 2 years.
- _ga_<container-id> — maintains session state. Duration: 2 years.
Google may process this information on servers outside your country. You can learn more about how Google uses data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The Website will continue to work if you do.
The Website does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social media tracking tools.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") setting. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to DNT signals, the Website does not currently respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signals as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information where required by law; because we do not sell or share personal information, no further action is required on your part. We do not allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites through the Website, other than our analytics provider as described above.
6. Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and to manage any resulting business relationship, and thereafter for as long as needed to comply with legal, contractual, and record-keeping obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. These include encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls, and security headers on the Website. However, no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Website from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion — to ask us to delete your personal information
- Portability — to receive your information in a portable format
- Objection and restriction — to object to or ask us to limit certain processing
- Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent, at any time, without affecting earlier processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we may decline requests where permitted by law. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
